Holy Shit this show was so good. Epic is a good word i could use to describe the show i witnessed last saturday night. Why can't more bands play good music and actually put on a great show that doesn't bore you to tears. As soon as the NZ 3 piece came on stage the crowd was inthralled by a raw and energetic show. From start to finish the boys delivered a 5 star performance and gave everything to interact with the crowd. For any bands out there who are coming through just play a live set half as good as this. And to Die Die Die, please come back again. Soon!

The Vines/Wolf & Cub/ Stature::Statue (The Tivoli)

It started again like it did the night before. Another jam packed set from Brisbane boys Stature::Statue and dare i say it the best and most well taken by the crowd with fans screaming for more and others approaching the boys after the show with congratulations in hand. Again i was not impressed with the four piece from Adelaide Wolf & Cub. It was an improvement on the night before but something in the sound was a little lack luster, something was missing and it wasn't a second drummer. Sorry. After this deja vu set in and i felt like i had heard this all before so I packed up and went home.

The Vines/Wolf & Cub/ Stature::Statue (The Great Northern Byron Bay)

So we headed down to Byron Bay on Thursday morning for the show at the Great Northern. After a day of trying to soak some sun into my milky white exterior and enjoying the sights of the locals and every foreign backpacker you could imagine we got ready to head to the show. Again the night started with our friends Stature::Statue or as the Byron locals now know them as Stature::State, We put this down to a retarded Byron Local. The set was delivered with a flurry of hip gyration, head banging and hair tossing from the Brisbane boys however this did not out-show the individual sound produced. Next up was Wolf & Cub and I'm not going to lie we didn't watch them and no photos were taken. There's just something about a band that uses more than one drummer doing the same thing. ITS NOT FUCKING NECESSARY. The Vines played next and with their list of old hits such as "Get Free", "Outtatheway", "Autumn Shade" and "Ride" your always going to get a good show with their new hit "He's A Rocker" all in all it was a good set. Nothing to exciting but nothing to talk shit about. On the other hand The security at the Great Northern can lick my big white balls. After being given the wrong pass and having it physically ripped off me by Wendy Dike-bitch-ington taking photos was not on my mind. Thanks to the Stature boys for a good night and just for the record we nearly lost Luke (Picture 4) in Byron after climbing on a roof and then running away.

Yeasayer/Tame Impaler/Stature::Statue @ The Zoo

Any band that can pull off 4 part harmonies while the bass player plays along to a fretless bass is worth every bit of the $40+ people paid to see this Brooklyn Indie rock band play. And not to mention the supports Tame Impala, new modular touring band straight out of the 90's grunge scene and local post punk art rockers Stature::Statue who once again played an outstanding energetic set to start the night off.
